Headaches

The term headache is not a diagnosis but a symptom. As there is nearly always un underlying cause for them. There are many different conditions that can cause a headache, very few are serious, more just seriously painful!

The three main headaches that a lot of people get are:

  • Tension-Type Headaches – These are the most common type of headache and the one we think as a normal, everyday headache. May feel like a constant ache that affects both sides of the head. Can last for an hour to even days in persistent examples
  • Migraine Headaches – These can be very distressing and last from a few hours to several days. Symptoms include pain, dizziness, nausea, and visual disturbance
  • Cervicogenic Headaches – These are usually caused by misalignment or nerve irritation in the upper neck. This causes pain from the back of the head to the front on only on one side of the head

Often patients who seek chiropractic care from our experienced team of chiropractors find immediate relief from their cervicogenic headaches (headaches caused by neck problems). Patients suffering with migraine and tension-type headache experience a significant reduction in the frequency and severity of headache episodes.
