Neck and back pain can be caused by poor posture whilst sitting at work. Working from home often means sitting at a kitchen table, on poor chairs or worse the sofa. Hours a day in the same poor position can lead to neck and back pain that builds up and can spread to other parts of the body. Headaches, wrist and elbow pain, tingling in the hands or forearms or nagging pain in the back of one or both legs can all be caused by poor posture.
Chronic tension in the back and neck can lead to joint pain, muscle tension and nerve irritation which can cause pain in other parts of the body such as legs, feet and arms.
Have a good look art your seating position whilst your working. Ask your partner or a friend to look at you whilst your working and compare your position to the pictures below.
