Improve your posture to keep fit at an old age shares a leading Chelmsford Chiropractor

Being a leading Chelmsford Chiropractor we are aware that we are living in an era of significant population ageing. As we are living longer it is important that we know the significance that our posture plays in keeping us fit and active in our old age.

In 2012 a survey was carried out that highlighted the need for action and attention on watching your posture. With 48% of over 55’s admitting that they are a lot less active than they were 20 years ago and over 51% of over 55’s currently suffering from back and neck pain.

Here at Chelmsford Chiropractor Clinic we love to share advice. Below are a few tips on how to improve your posture at an old age.

  • Try to stay as active as you can. Adding just a few minutes of exercise or stretches a day could be of benefit.
  • Keep hydrated. The body works better when fluid levels are up and will keep you feeling energised.
  • Walking is a great way to stay fit. It is less strenuous on the joints and can help maintain bone density.
  • Look at ways to increase levels of activity, such as talking the stairs instead of the lift and walking instead of driving
