A visit to a medical herbalist for many patients can be life changing. It is often their first experience of true holistic healthcare.
What is a Medical Herbalist?
Medical herbalists are health care providers who use plant based medicines to treat their patients. They are trained in Western orthodox medical diagnosis and have the right to primary diagnosis.
Medical herbalists who are registered with the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH) combine historical knowledge with the latest scientfic research. They will have trained for at least 3 years, will have received botanical and medical training and must adhere to a strict code of conduct.
Herbal medicine can be traced back to the start of human history. With around 80% of the world’s population relying on herbal medicine as their primary healthcare and the demand for this form of medicine has never been greater.
